ABOUT-INTRO

Terryhowcott.com has lots of visitors in Georgia and throughout the south. But, this may very well be relevant to folks in other areas of the country.

This is six year old Christopher Michael Barrios Jr.

Christopher didn't come home last Thursday afternoon.

He was last seen walking toward home from a swingset - a block away - in the Canal Moble Home Park on Horseshoe Lane around 6:15 p.m.

Neighbors spotted a white car driving slowly in the area, but are not sure if the car is related.

A "Levi's Call" which is Georgia's "Amber Alert" has NOT been issued because "there is no proof he has been abducted."

Christopher was wearing a blue or green long sleeve shirt with a white T shirt underneath, long black pants and tennis shoes with a blue stripe on the side with a velcro closure on top.

Christopher is a Latino-Black male with short black hair and brown eyes, 3 feet 6 incches and 4 feet tall, weighing between 60 and 70 pounds.

The toy Christopher was carrying that afternoon has been found.

Searchers, including DNR, Georgia Sate Patrola, search and rescuse including divers and others have combed the terrain around where Christohper was last seen, to no avail.

If you have any information on Christohper's whereabouts, please call Glynn County Police Department at (912) 554-7803 or Silent Witness at (912) 264-1333.

A $25,000 reward is offered for Christopher's safe return by the Glynn County Commission, and another $1000 by a private individual.

Christohper Barrios' Grandmother says, she "loves him to death, and wants him to come home"

Here is a local news video on Christopher Barrios' disappearance.

UPDATE

A Levi's Call or Amber Alert has been issued for Christopher Barrios Jr. Police received a call March 12 at 9:30pm PST from family members of a man believed to be a sex offender who lives very near Christopher's home.

The tip indicated that Christopher may be found in the trailer and still alive, upon entry Christopher was not found.

The man in question had been in police custody since Friday on a probation violation and is being named a suspect in the case.

The Barrios family had been devastated after the police called off the search in their neighborhood - saying they were focusing the investigation outside of the community.

UPDATE II

Christopher Barrios has not been found, while the person and his Mother who you all probably already heard were arrested made albeit dishonest statements about whereabouts of Christopher's body.

The fact that they allude to a body all - even though the location didn't produce any results - is terrible news. Let's hope these people are so insane that they're just talking just to talk.

UPDATE III

More sad news . . .

Three shovels were taken from the house in question, and though Christopher hasn't been located, there are claims of a confession that Christopher has been buried.

I know now that I should never attempt news reporting because I really want to back out of this. I began this process envisioning an absolute happy ending - and feeling like this site would make a contribution to the cause by getting the word out about a missing child of color.

I wasn't ready for this. I'll bet you weren't either.

The late, Christopher Barrios

I'm heartbroken to report that the body of Christopher Michael Barrios was found today along the side of a road, three miles from home.

The body of Christopher Barrios has been found.

I must say, I'm a taken back with the seeming lightheartedness of this police chief. One might attribute it to nervousness and having all the attention focused on him, but he's talking as if he just found a stolen car.
