Ongoing Reparations Oral Arguments

Below is the audio of the September 27, 2006 oral argument proceeding of the lawsuit pending in the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago IL. It is an important listen.

Plantiffs from around the country filed the cases in March 2002, demanding that defendants create a humanitarian trust fund to benefit the descendants of enslaves Africans. The case is entitled Farmer-Paellmann, et. al. v. Brown and williamson, et. al.

Thank you to these great woman, two plantiffs in the case, the dynamic and courageous Dr. Delois Blakley and Deadria Farmer-Paellmann. Dr. Farmer-Paellamann first exposed Aetna Inc. in 2000 for its role in writing life insurance policies on the lives of slaves with slave owners as beneficiaries. She is shown to the left with Dr. Blakely, raised among the Simanur Indians and who was the "Community Mayor of Harlem" for a time in the 1990's. Having once served as a nun, Dr. Blakely an activist who never finished high school has promoted Harlem throughout the world, and is a citizen of Gambia. She is known there as "'Dr. Fatou' Delois Blakley Kinteh."

Deadria Farmer-Paellmann earned her Masters Degree from George Washington University in D.C., and her Juris Doctorate from New England School of Law in Massachussetts. I'll bet she would explain to those of us who are struggling class after class that she accomplished these feats "one day at a time."

The New England School of Law website cites Dr. Farmer-Paellmans' "deliberate" choosing of courses that could "help her objective." Both of these womens' objectives, along with their counterparts, require them to suffer much hardship, including frowned, clueless faces, and ostracism in our behalf hence terryhowcott.com is proud to honor them here.

Keep on keepin' on.
